Milton Hershey School Athletics
All Champions Start Somewhere
Milton Hershey School student-athletes know what it means to be a Spartan. Whether they participate in competitive or intramural athletics, our students display school pride. They show respect for the Spartan mascot by competing with courage, resilience, loyalty, and determination.
Students learn that academics and sports are intertwined, and their teachers, houseparents, and coaches work together to help them balance priorities. MHS coaches do promote the mindset that students are students first and athletes second.
MHS Spartan athletes are provided with all the tools to succeed. They have access to highly trained coaches and staff. They practice and compete at world-class facilities. And, their health and wellness benefits from these offerings.
Become a Spartan!Strength of Character
Through our athletics program, students learn so much more than just how to play a certain sport. Sports participation helps MHS students collaborate with their peers and work toward a common goal. Through this, they build strong character and leadership skills. Learning about defeat is a valuable lesson, as well.

The commitment of MHS athletes, coaches, and alumni, is what sets our athletics program apart. Spartans have their own personal experiences and passions, on and off the field, that shape them to become their greatest selves.
Competitive Athletics
MHS offers varsity and JV teams for 15 sports. More than 600 students participate annually. Our program has produced many championship seasons ending with state and district titles.
Spartan teams compete in the Mid-Penn Conference. We match up against public and private schools in several sports.
