Milton Hershey School Fourth and Eighth Grade Students Recognized During Virtual Promotion Ceremonies
On Friday, June 12, Milton Hershey School honored fourth and eighth grade students with virtual promotion ceremonies.
“We are so excited to share this wonderful presentation of all the accomplishments our students achieved during the 2019-20 school year,” said Tara Valoczki, Milton Hershey School Elementary School Principal. “This class of students has stayed focused and kept their eye on the prize of finishing their fourth grade strong.”
The Fourth Grade Virtual Promotion Ceremony featured photos of each member of the 127 students in the MHS Class of 2028 that will move to Middle Division next school year. In addition, the presentation shared information about each student including what they loved learning about, what they look forward to, and their favorite memory from fourth grade.

The Eighth Grade Virtual Promotion Ceremony featured messages from Middle Division administrators, acknowledgment of award winners, photos of the 221 members of the rising ninth grade class, and a special choir performance.
“Even though we are unable to share in this experience together, I am honored and I am humbled to be able to participate in this with you,” shared Ryan Michael, MHS Middle School Principal. “This year has brought many unique challenges and many unique obstacles; however, with all adversity you have continued to persevere. Remember that you will never be defined by one moment, but rather by a collection of your actions. I am excited to see what actions you take and what moments you create as you continue your journey into high school.”
Middle Division Assistant Principal Amy Rehmeyer shared, “Our rising class is strong and resilient. Their compassion, empathy, and school spirit were unwavering even in the most difficult times. This school year they were challenged to use what they learned at Catherine Hall outside of the school setting as they engaged in online learning. Their capacity to be flexible thinkers, adjust to the ever-changing situation, and support one another through the process was amazing. As educators, we are proud of their ability to adapt to change and rise above it.”
